The Department of Teacher Education at Webster University provides its students with the knowledge, experiences, and practical tools that enable them to guide both themselves and others toward lifelong learning.

The Students in Free Enterprise Club (SIFE), comprised of interested students from all five of Webster’s colleges and schools, clinched their regional competition in 2005. One SIFE project included teaching classes on the supply and demand concept of economics at Villa Duchesne High School in St. Louis. SIFE students did a Power Point presentation and then divided the class into teams to play a game designed to test what they learned. The visit to Villa Duchesne was part of SIFE’s first educational outreach program. This initiative recently expanded to teach the same material at lower grade levels throughout the St. Louis public school system. Webster’s SIFE club is one of 1,800 college teams in more than 40 countries. Check us out!
