The Public Relations major combines a strong base in academic study with opportunities to test concepts through projects with actual clients.
Students create strategic information programs, internal communications plans, media relations initiatives, public relations campaigns, interactive and Internet communications vehicles, and special events projects -- all as they build a multi-media portfolio under the guidance of practicing professionals.
Writing proficiency is a necessary element for students who pursue this major. Students will develop both journalistic and the specialized public relations writing skills necessary to delivery key messages to target audiences.

The Webster University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) promotes the profession and an appreciation for the highest ethical ideals and principles The PRSSA also provides students with an opportunity to network and learn from professionals in the field.

Webster's School of Communications operates with one goal in mind - to educate and prepare its students to excel as skilled professionals in a global field of communications. To achieve this goal, the school takes a hands-on approach to learning. Students work with professional-grade media equipment as early as their freshman year.
