The Piano Performance program is designed for students with a serious commitment to the highest level of performance.
Students perform solo recitals and are expected to serve regularly as vocal, instrumental or ensemble accompanists. They also actively participate in weekly master classes.
An outstanding collection of professional performers and educators comprises the faculty at Webster University.
Daniel Schene, director of keyboard studies, is internationally known as a solo, concerto and chamber music recitalist, accompanist, master teacher and recording artist. The professor of organ studies is William Partridge, director of music at Christ Church Cathedral (Episcopal) in St. Louis.
Webster's Emerson Library houses the Robert Dial Archive of Organ Literature, one of the most comprehensive collections of organ music in the United States. Each year Webster hosts the Winter Piano Ensemble Festival and the Summer Piano Workshop.
Applicants to the undergraduate music program must complete an in-person audition or interview with the music faculty and complete a music theory diagnostic examination. The examination is used to assist faculty in placing students in the proper classes.

Webster University's Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts enables students to become confident, intellectually prepared artists and performers in a global environment. Our art, music, theatre and dance majors combine significant studio experiences with an excellent faculty-driven liberal arts education. Many alumni have been nominated for and won Tony, Emmy, and Academy Awards. Theatre graduates are currently with national touring companies of Peter Pan, Chicago, Cabaret, and Sunset Boulevard.

Student musicians get to hone their skills in Vienna, home to legendary composers Beethoven, Mozart and Strauss where Webster has had a campus since 1981. Students may take instruction on their major instrument (voice, keyboard, trumpet, flute, etc - jazz or classical), take courses in music history - especially relating to Vienna's traditions, study composition, do special projects on opera, and participate in ensembles and recitals.
