International students who plan to major in art, dance, music, or theatre must complete a portfolio review or audition as part of their application to Webster. It is recommended that students apply for academic admission before auditioning or doing a portfolio review.
Art Portfolio
Admission to the Art Department as a degree-seeking student is by portfolio review. Reviews are held on campus throughout the year, and also give students the opportunity to meet faculty, tour the studios, and observe classes. A student applying from overseas may submit their portfolio by mail. International students applying to St. Louis should send their portfolio to the International Recruitment and Services Office at:
Webster University
International Recruitment & Services
470 East Lockwood
St. Louis, MO 63119
The portfolio should consist of 15-20 items. Select examples of your current work in any combination of media that will fully represent you. Recent original drawings on a variety of subjects from observations and/or imagination rather than work from photographs are preferred. You should include personal work as well as class projects. Works which cannot be included because of their size, weight, or framing may be represented by photographs or slides. Examples of work should not exceed 22 by 30 inches. You are also encouraged to submit a sketchbook.
For additional portfolio information, please direct questions to the International Recruitment and Services Office at intlstudy@webster.edu or 314-968-7433.
