Arts & Sciences will expand your mind, stretch your imagination, and challenge your beliefs. Our nine departments are Behavioral & Social Sciences; Biological Sciences; English; History, Politics, & International Relations; Interdisciplinary Studies; International Languages & Cultures; Nursing; Philosophy; and Religious Studies.

The College of Arts & Sciences has a long tradition of academic excellence. Not only are our faculty outstanding teachers, but they have real-world experience and make scholarly contributions to their fields. When you study with Arts & Sciences, you will be encouraged to share your opinions and take part in research.

As part of an international university, we encourage our students to expand their horizons by learning the languages and worldviews of other cultures. We also encourage students to study abroad, either at one of Webster’s international campuses or through one of Arts & Sciences’ short-term overseas trips. Short-term choices include studying Buddhism in Thailand for a semester and spending a summer exploring Vienna’s modernist period where it originated: in the city’s fascinating cafes and cultural centers.

The College of Arts & Sciences will prepare you to be an accomplished professional. More importantly, however, we’ll teach you how to think—and how to think for yourself. You’ll also learn how to learn, an important skill for those about to enter a job market in which it is estimated workers will change jobs 7-10 times over their lifetime.

Yours will be a long and complex life in a rapidly changing world. We invite you to let the College of Arts & Sciences help you get ready for it.
