At Webster, Our Students Come First.

What size are the classes?

Concern for you as an individual sets Webster apart.  With an on-campus population of approximately 2,200 full-time undergraduate students, you won’t get lost in the crowd.

Our student-centered approach features small, discussion-oriented classes, usually limited to a maximum of 25 students.

Most classes average 15 - 20 students.  In fact, there are only a handful of classrooms on campus that seat more than 30 students.

How are the professors?

In a word: world-class. Classes are taught by experienced professors - not by graduate assistants who have had just a few more years of school than you.  Since Webster is a “teaching institution”, professors are readily available and eager to help you meet your goals.

While many of our faculty members conduct research and publish regularly, their first priority has always been to teach and advise students.

Will I receive personalized advising?

At Webster, you're never just a number. Whether it's your career or next semester's classes that you're planning for, you will receive individual attention and guidance from your academic advisor.

When you first register at Webster, you will work with a professional advisor who will help you learn about Webster’s programs and procedures, as well as review your academic program and needs.

After your first semester, a permanent advisor, - usually a faculty member from your program of choice - will assist you throughout your time at Webster. This advisor will help you explore your options, stay informed of requirements, and plan an academic program best suited to your personal needs and career goals.

What if I change my mind about my major?

Webster offers approximately 100 different academic programs in the arts and sciences, business and technology, communications, teaching and fine arts. If your aspirations change as you experience life at Webster, chances are there's a program that's right for you.

What is a Combined Degree Program?

In addition to our strong undergraduate programs, Webster offers a combined-degree program which overlaps bachelor and master’s degrees in selected fields so those with outstanding academic recorda can complete both degrees at an accelerated pace.

What is a "reality-based education?"

The focal point of the Webster University experience is reality-based education, the blending of theory and real world application incorporated into every major offered at Webster.

Professors are experts in their fields with significant, real-world experience.

Class assignments often require you to apply what you have learned in a lab or studio setting.  Interviews, presentations, and case study assignments will teach you to translate concepts into professional practice.

Internship opportunities have included positions at:

  • Boeing
  • Kraft Foods
  • MasterCard International
  • National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences

Career Services regularly hosts local and national companies for information sessions and interviews.
Approximately 95% of Webster’s graduates are employed full-time or attending graduate school within six months of graduation.

Where is Webster located?

Webster University is located in Webster Groves, a charming residential suburb of St. Louis, just minutes from Interstate 44.

What is your campus like?

The 47-acre campus is surrounded by a tranquil neighborhood full of beautiful trees, shops, cafes and homes, and no two campus points are farther than a two-block walk away.

While many transfer students commute from their home, others opt to live on campus.

You may choose from one or two-bedroom apartments in the Webster Village Apartment complex or more traditional single or double room accommodations in our brand-new $16 million housing facilities that feature semi-private bathrooms, high- speed Internet access, the ability to watch cable TV from laptops and more!

As a Webster student, you may also take advantage of the many campus cultural activities.

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and the Webster Film Series all make their home on our campus.

Or you may qualify to compete as a member of our NCAA Division III teams in men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, swimming and diving, and tennis; men’s baseball and golf; or women’s cross country, softball, swimming and volleyball.

You may also participate in a variety of student organizations and activities, or enroll in Webster’s Leadership Development program.
