Log In to Webster

Student life flourishes as brilliantly as Leiden’s world-famous tulips and is in step with the constant flow of bicycles that travel through the streets. Outdoor cafés, restaurants, and banks are within walking distance of campus. The picturesque campus includes state-of-the-art classrooms and computer lab facilities, a library, lounge, and staff offices.

The campus library has extensive resources and reference materials to complement the instant access to worldwide databases and full text journals through Webster’s online “Passports” library network. You can also use the nearby University of Leiden Library, which has more than two million volumes, thousands in English. Campus computer facilities are located in the computer lab and the library and offer a multitude of modern software options in IBM compatible networked PCs.

You can play an active role in student life through the student council and the variety of clubs on campus. You can get information about field trips, debates, second-hand textbooks as well as plans for parties, cultural events, and sporting attractions. Basketball, soccer, and softball are popular intramural sports. Student discounts are also available at the University of Leiden Sports Center that offers tennis, squash, basketball, badminton, volleyball, fencing, boxing, and gymnastics.

Accommodations

You can choose from a variety of housing options. One option, the “Minnehuis,” dates back to 1827, and is located on a scenic canal just a 15-minute walk from campus. It features comfortable bedrooms, bathrooms, a communal kitchen, a pantry annex, laundry facilities, a television lounge, and public telephones. All bedrooms have telephone, e-mail, and Internet access if students want to get lines installed. Other housing facilities are located nearby that offer bright, fully furnished rooms and similar amenities.
